Tuesday's Tip : Pumpkin Carving Tip (A little late)

This is a little late, but I wanted to share it anyway....save it for next year!

Make that Carving Last - Spray a mixture of bleach and water on the inside of your fresh pumpkin daily or coat the inside w/ petroleum jelly to keep mold and dehydration at bay.

Make it Monday: Pumpkin cupcakes with Pumpkin Spiced Icing

Hey everyone! Did you notice I didn't post for Thursday or Friday!? Oops! Totally forgot...I have been so busy lately it has been kinda crazy. I will post this week I promise!!
Friday night Mike's family had us over for dinner and pumpkin carving!! I wanted to make something with pumpkin and decided on these pumpkin cupcakes. I just searched Google and found them at Gina's Skinny Recipes
 Yes, SKINNY!
Pumpkin Cupcakes with Pumpkin Spiced Cream Cheese Icing
Ingredients:
  • 18.25 oz Betty Crocker Golden Vanilla Super Moist Cake Mix*
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup canned 100% pure pumpkin
  • 1 cup water
For the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 8 oz Philadelphia 1/3 fat cream cheese (do not use fat free)
  • 1/2 cup pureed pumpkin (canned is fine)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 5 tbsp packed brown sugar
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°. Line a cupcake tin with cupcake wrappers.
Combine cake mix and pumpkin spice in a large bowl.
Add pumpkin puree and water, mix about 2 minutes.
Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full and bake about 20 - 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. For the frosting, combine the cream cheese, pumpkin, vanilla, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice and brown sugar until smooth. You can use a spatula to ice the cupcakes or pipe them which may require making more frosting.
Here are mine (not as nicely decorated...hahahah)
They were delicious! Very Fall!!!

Tuesday's Tip : Painting a chair

How come I didn't know about this a couple of years ago...when I painted some of our chairs and tables?! geez...what a great idea!!

"Before updating or touching up a chair or small, lightweight table, elevate it over the work surface by gently tapping a nail into the bottom of each leg. The legs will get better air circulation for drying and won't stick to the surface."  Martha Stewart

Friday Favourites: My HUSBAND

My HUSBAND is my favourite. He is absolutly perfect for me.

He is loving, caring, romantic, sweeet, and thoughtful.

He always knows the right thing to say. He can make me feel better by just looking at me or hugging me.

He is generous, plans date nights, and little mini day trips.

He is definitely sexy, and tells me I am beautiful all the time.
He is my soul mate and I am so lucky to have him in my life.

He is my favourite! I love you baby!

Thursday's TO-DO List : Tell you about the WEDDING!!

I thought I would tell you about our wedding today! It is a long post, just so you know!!

The wedding was perfect. The only thing that didn't work out for us was the weather. It was kind of disappointing but we worked with it! Did you see the pictures of my beautiful bridesmaids?! Kayla (my sister) was my maid of honor, Tori (my cousin) was a bridesmaid and Amanda (old college roommate) was another.
They were very helpful and the best bridesmaids anyone could have!

The hall was absolutly beautfiul. We got the hall Friday morning which gave us a chance to set up all day Friday. I don't know what we would have done if we didn't get it until Saturday!
Dad surprised me on the day with a candy buffet.
I originally wanted one, not everyone thought it was a good idea..and then by the end it was going to be too much money. Dad asked me when we went in to the reception to go to the other side of the room and  I couldn't believe it! It was beautiful. He also got little brown bags with our names and date on them for people to fill, as well as little mini Chinese food boxes. Let me tell you...by the end of the night, it was completely empty!! I think people enjoyed it!

My girls and I got our hair and makeup done at a cute little place downtown. They both did an amazing job! we looked awesome!
We were a little late coming back to the house...there was a photographer waiting for us to take some "getting ready" pictures..I can't wait to see those! Then it was time to go.

I was so nervous, my heart was pounding and I was shaking. The girls went down the aisle..and then it was my turn. Dad was basically running...hahah I think he was nervous too. I actually told him we were walking too fast and to slow down! ahahahahha.
Michael looked so handsome...I had never seen him so dressed up. He wouldn't stop looking at me the entire time, and everytime we made eye contact I would start to tear up so I would look at him for a few seconds and then look somewhere else....We were holding hands the entire time. I was shaking and he was rubbing my hands, which did calm me down. The ceremony was absolutely perfect.

We had to have the photos upstairs which was too bad. We moved the head table and had them in front of the brick. While we were doing that, there was a photobooth set up outside the room, the guests could enjoy. I think everyone loved that.
Dinner was amazing! The staff were amazing and the food was amazing! It went on a little longer than we thought... but it was great.
 (my vegetarian meal)
(yummy dessert)

After dinner we had speeches which were also amazing. Everyone who spoke did so well, they weren't too long and, of course, made me cry.... Mike and I didn't plan a speech, but it turned out ok. Before we actually did our speech the Dj wanted us to play a game. We took one of each of our shoes and he would ask a question and we had to put up the right shoe...it was pretty funny...hahh
We were running out of photography hours because dinner was pretty long, so we did our first dance...
cake cutting.....

father/daughter dance...
mother/son dance..
bouquet toss..
and garter toss.
It felt a little rushed but it was still very nice.

Then it was time to dance the night away...which we did! everyone got on the dance floor!
 (me, dad, mom and kayla)

It was an awesome party. And people still enjoyed the photobooth! I even got in there...

Mike and I stayed right to the very end, like a lot of people did as well. It was an amazing day! I can't believe we are MARRIED!

p.s- Thanks to everyone for posting these photos so fast! I had a lot of them the next day!!
